With over 900 registrants, developers and IT specialists received an overview of FirstNet and the FirstNet app ecosystem. Speakers explained the value of having apps in the dedicated app and solution store and becoming a member of the FirstNet Developer Program. The session included a technical review of how to optimize app performance with free Video Optimizer tool.

The FirstNet ecosystem booth showcased many solutions and solution providers that are harnessing the power of FirstNet through interoperable apps and app enabled devices. FirstNet was prominent is discussion, presentations and exhibitor booths across the IACP conference.

11 teams hacked to compete for the six smart city prizes. Although there was only one prize specifically focused on public safety, seventy percent of the presentations were focused on helping first responders. With onsite support from IBM Watson & Bluemix, CISCO and Check Point Technologies, hackers built solutions that help firefighters, dispatchers, incident commanders and campus security.
